PostSubject: Eczema, Psoriasis and Dermatitis of the Scalp Support Thread   Sun Jan 27, 2008 4:38 am

Whatever type of scalp-related Eczema, Psoriasis and/or Dermatitis condition you have, please feel free to talk about it here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone with multiple auto immuno disease clusters that impacts your primary scalp condition?

What is your treatment regimen if any (steroid creamss, non-steroids, aloe-vera, do nothing)?

Do you rely soley on steroid topical creams/lotions or holistic treatments or both?

How do you cope/destress/Camouflage (wigs, scarves, therapy)?

Has anyone found that gender or ethnicity (negatively) affect treatment or quality of medical dermalogic services?

How do your acquaintances (or potential SO's) react when you tell them of your immuno disorder?

Anyone know of any great medical dermatology specialists or clinics that treat eczema, psoriasis and/or dermatitis? Please post them, here!

PostSubject: Treating Eczema, Psoriasis and Dermatitis of the Scalp   Sun Jan 27, 2008 4:55 am

Arrow Treating Eczema, Psoriasis and Dermatitis of the Scalp Arrow

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most eczema and psoriasis sufferers have found that not only is Betamethasone (Diproprionate) the best steroidal topical for treating eczema and psoriasis of the body, but it is also superiorly effective in treating the periodic scalp flare-ups that those with eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis experience during severe flareups.

The Top 5 treatments for relief of eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis are:
1.Betamethasone (Diproprionate) (RX only for use on body, scalp—but not on face)

2. Organic Aloe Vera Gel (for use on and applied to face, body, scalp)

3. Plain/Pure Nursery Jelly (for use on and applied to damp skin--faceor body only—not on scalp
unless scaling is present)

4. Natural-Cosmetics Raw Handmade African Black Soap (great for controlling eczema, sensitive skin issues, acne, oily skin issues) (Amazon.com)

5. Coconut Oil (if skin is particularly dry, add a few drops of vegetable glycerin to liquid coconut oil for a great all-natural soothing humectant oil for skin) (Amazon.com)

------------------------

Important Notes: When seeking prescribed topicals only one prescribed steroid cream received rave reviews 100% of the time in terms of promoting healing and providing relief from the unpleasant itchiness. The others were reviewed as fair to unsatisfactory.

1. The best topical steroid cream was reported as: Betamethasone (Diproprionate) 0.05%

2.The worst topical steroid creams were reported as Dexametasone (aka Topicort?), Triamcinolone, clobetasol and fluocinide)--Now, in minor cases all eventually worked, but these did very little to minimize or reduce severe itchining in more serious or prolonged cases or the disorder/s.
