ALL About Face Shapes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Much of what we do, from an esthetic standpoint (hairstyles, type of make-up (eye-shadows, lipblush, etc.), even brow stencil selection) is influenced by our primary face shape characteristics. Here we have general examples of face shapes and celebrity models (and well known (local) socialites) for point(s) of reference.

Oval- A well balanced face shape, in which the top and bottom (forehead and jawline) balance each other out nicely; this face is typically characterized by a classic oval shape (a small, smooth forehead that is wider than the perfectly balanced delicate chin, which ancors a flawless-feminine-slightly-squared-jawline with prominent cheekbones--and considered the feminine-medical-aesthetic-ideal for women -- in addition to being the natural compliment to the angles of the men's perfect facial square, ladies with this type of face are naturally slender/fit/have a perfect gentlewomen's 'S' or "I" body type-(ideal natural adult ladies' height of equal-to-or-over 5'ft-5"inches tall-- 32C-to-34B-to34D range with 32-to-34hip range (size 0-2dress misses up to 4tall dress))--think of the feminine balletic physique-with delicate long lines, but strong natural muscletone-lean muscle mass--NOTE: Men with this face shape tend to have either an "I" (lean-muscle mass) or "rectangular" (long-boxy-lean-to-buff--over 6ft tall and depending upon age-34Wgentlemen's-to-38Wgentlemen's range (W=waist))) body type ). Complimentary Styling Tips Suited To Each Face Shape:
For Men
Short, professional manicured locks are generally considered the masculine ideal for the modern professional gentleman, and can take you from the boardroom, to fine dining to a fun night out with the guys (Note: a clean shaven look for those under 30 is best, however, close cropped/micro-short manicured beards (think George Michaels c.1994) are/may be okay for those over age 35, or/and with classic good looks (i.e., so handsome your boss at IBM, Ralph Lauren or Versace won't mind-- paging, Pierce Brosnan, Robert Redford, Chico Debarge, Cameron Bancroft, Denzel Washington, etc..., but you get the drift ), or those who simply wish to minimize a somewhat longer jawline, (i.e., a little more Leno than David Chokachi in your lineage, let's say--) although the conservative workplace may require a clean-shaven jawline...

******
For Women
Hair: Lending sophistication to the younger professional’s look, and an air of chic-youthfulness to the mature gentlewoman, Long, manicured (mono-length) tresses are generally recommended.
----------
Oval- Classic, mono-length-long-hair (blunt Shoulder length or shoulder-to-waist length and/or beyond lengths) is best... but the feminine oval face shape is the most versatile face shape and is suited to most styles regardless of length, whether worn short or long, or down or styled away from the face.

Round – A feminine round face is best suited to long, layered cuts (the shortest layer should be fall/hang at just below shoulder length or longer), and in the case of an extremely round face shape, long bangs that fall below the eye or longer can lend softness to strong round features.

Diamond – Long layers, bob cuts and bangs are well suited to a feminine diamond face shape.

Heart- Long mono-lengths, soft-textured medium lengths, long layers and bangs are well suited to the feminine heart face shape.

Square- A feminine square face is best suited to softer, longer hairstyles designed to lessen the impact of the strong angles.

Pear- Very long-mono-lengths or layered Styles that create volume around the temples/eyes and crown are best suited to feminine pear shape faces.

Oblong- (medium) manicured Bangs (that fall just below the brow) paired with a mono-length manicured chin to shoulder length page (ala Jenny McCarthy -circa 2007) create the illusion of a more balanced oval in the feminine oblong and work very well with oblong face shapes in general.

Rectangle- (medium) Bangs (that fall just below the brow) and classic page (blunt styles- that fall just below the shoulder) or longer, and soft styles designed to minimize strong angles.

Note: When selecting brow stencils, experts recommend choosing a stencil that extends slightly beyond/is slightly longer than the width (east-west corners) of the eye within the natural brow line and then fill with pencil or brow powder.
