Top 10 Steps To Healthy Living

A Positive Outlook (patience, belief, a strong support network and commitment are essential to achieving and maintaining optimum healthy living and longevity)

Nutrition (a daily reduced caloric, optimum nutritional lifestyle of (but excluding any allergen related foods); 5-8 glasses of unflavored- plain drinking water, organic fruits, organic green vegetables, tofu, soy, beans, carrots, other vegetables, fat-free or light soymilk, almond milk, pure organic carrot juice, fat-free yogurt, soy cheese, almond cheese, natural sweetener alternatives to sugar such as Stevia or Xylitol and Remember to see your dentist and primary care physician at least 2-3x per year to maintain overall oral and physical health). **Important to Avoid artificial sweeteners, artificial colors, artificial additives, artificial preservatives, processed flour, alcohol, smoking, sodas, flavored water, carbonated beverages, cookies, candies, cakes, chips, fried foods, excess sugar, high fat count of over 4grams per single serving, excess calories per serving).**

Gym Membership and/or Home Resistance Training System (Bowflex Revolution or Total Gym are popular choices)

Yoga (total body flexibility, strength, heart benefits)

Mat Pilates (head-to-to Muscle definition, strength, weightloss, core/waistline management, heart benefits)

Walking (natural cardio, head-to-toe weightloss, heart benefits (use of treadmill is also very good) )

Cycling (cardio, weightloss, heart benefits, lower body muscle enhancement (stationary bike is good also) waist-line management)

Swimming (excellent means of head-to-toe cardio, strengthens every muscle in the body (eco-friendly, chlorine-free fitness pools are preferred) )

Ab Work (standing, floor/lying or traditional rotary twist methods (abchair) are highly effective for essential core/waistline health )

Meditation (in conjunction with other therapies, meditative breathing is highly effective as a therapy with a high rate of response for depression, chronic pain, anxiety and OCD, with no risks or negative side-effects Meditation Link )

Genetics versus Lifestyle

It’s important to remember, that Good Health is about more than genetics, only you can control what or how much you eat or how often you exercise. Yes, weak genetics can ruin your body, but only if you let yourself go. When it comes to being healthy and fit (outside of unforeseen critical illness or accident), the only thing not controlled by you is the negative impact a poor lifestyle can have on your health and appearance.

In terms of diet, a modified, low caloric intake of water, fruits, vegan proteins, soy, whole grains and dark leafy green vegetables AND the eliminating of ‘bad’ carbs; white flour, processed foods, excess sugars, all artificial sweeteners. We recommend all-natural (non-sugar) sweeteners such as Xylotol and/or Stevia.

The best exercises for the body are (Isometrics andCallanetics) those that improve strength and flexibility and improve heart and lung functions such as mat pilates, resistance training, walking, cycling, cardio aerobics training, yoga (for flexibility, strength and posture) and swimming.

PiYo (a combination of yogic and Pilates-style moves), (Pilates/Yoga) or Pilates for strengthening the core
